Board of Health
Responsible for implementing a wide range of public health initiatives, the Board of Health is the foundation of Leonia's Health Department.

Library Board of Trustees
Library boards of trustees are strong, influential advocates for libraries and the communities they serve. It is because of the direction, determination, and hard work of these trustees that libraries have evolved to meet the needs of the public.

Planning & Zoning Board
The general purpose of the Planning Board is to provide for and guide the orderly growth and development of the community. This is accomplished primarily through development of a Master Plan for the Town, the Zoning Bylaw, and the Planning Board's Rules and Regulations Governing Subdivision of Land.

CHANGE OF LOCATION
ANNA C. SCOTT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
100 HIGHLAND ST, LEONIA, NJ 07605, CAFETERIA

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Borough of Leonia Planning Board will hold its regular meeting for the month of May, on May 24, 2023 at Anna C Scott Elementary School, 100 Highland St, Leonia, NJ 07605 (new location for overflow crowd capacity) instead of at the Leonia Senior Center.  The agenda for the meeting will be an initial review of a draft redevelopment plan prepared by H2M Associates, Inc. for the area surrounding the Fort Lee Road and Grand Avenue intersection, and a hearing on the application of Reuten Senior Ventures, LLC for property located at 2 Christie Heights Street for an adult day care facility.  The Board will carry other applications that have been noticed for May 24, 2023 to a future meeting date. 

This agenda is subject to change and formal action may be taken on any matter of the agenda.

Commissions

Environmental Commission
The Commission is an advisory to the Mayor and Council and is charged with studying and making recommendations in areas of conservation and environmental protection, including but not limited to open space preservation, water resources, solid waste management and beautification.

Historic Preservation Commission
The mission of the Leonia Historic Preservation Commission is to protect and preserve the unique character of Leonia with specific focus on its historic sites and buildings.

Recreation Commission
This commission promotes and develops recreation, sports, and fitness opportunities while addressing the needs of the residents and promoting a strong sense of community and improving the quality of life in Leonia

Shade Tree Commission
The Leonia Shade Tree Commission is charged with protecting, maintaining and replenishing one of our town's most important qualities: its fabulous population of shade trees.

Leonia Welcome Committee
To help you get acquainted to your new surroundings, the Leonia Welcome Committee has put together this page to point you to important phone numbers, applications, and much more.

Leonia Bridge Builders Committee
The Leonia Bridge Builders Committee provides easy and accessible translations of public announcements and events for the purpose of fostering community and civic engagement in Leonia.

Charter Study Committee
The Committee will review the various forms of government operating in New Jersey (there are many!), and will solicit input from Leonians (a minimum of two public hearings are required, as contained in the memo) as well as from other municipalities and government experts as the Committee deems appropriate. 

Mayor's Advisory Committee on Pedestrian Safety & Transportation
The Mayor's Advisory Committee on Pedestrian Safety & Transportation is charged with providing input and guidance to the Mayor and through the Mayor, the Council, on issues affecting Borough residents, specifically as it regards these areas.

Mayor's Advisory Committee on Racial Equity
The Committee’s mission is to cultivate a unified, inclusive, and anti-racist local community by educating and engaging residents, identifying areas of potential bias, and making strategic recommendations for policy and practice to the Mayor, Council, and other governing bodies that advance diversity, equity and inclusion throughout Leonia.

Mayor's Advisory Committee on Sculpture and the Arts
Sculpture for Leonia is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization established in 2008 with the purpose of enhancing the historically rich art and cultural environment in Leonia, New Jersey through the display of outdoor sculpture.

Municipal Drug Alliance
The Municipal Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, initiated in 1989, exemplifies a public/private partnership at the community level to prevent alcoholism and substance abuse. 

Stigma Free Task Force
We are dedicated to raising awareness of the disease of mental illness and create a culture wherein residents who have the disease feel supported by their community and neighbors and feel free to seek treatment without fear of stigma.
