The Municipal Court is an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to preserve the rule of law and to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and this State.

Virtual (Remote) Courtroom Security Policy - Restrictions on Personal (Non-Media) Cell Phone Use in the Virtual Courtrooms

All individuals involved in legal proceedings, traffic and parking matters, including complainants, defendants, attorneys, and victims, are advised to contact the municipal court via email at cherron.gil@njcourts.gov or kelly.otoole@njcourts.gov, or by calling 201-592-5780 ext. 258 or ext. 257 for general inquiries.
 
We kindly request that individuals refrain from leaving voice messages, as adjournments will not be considered through this method. In cases of urgency, please communicate with the court via email as instructed.
 
Those with scheduled appearances before the municipal court may request a review of their case by submitting a plea by mail form, which can be accessed through the forms link.

Online Municipal Case Resolution: 
NJMCDIRECT.COM has been enhanced to include access to the new online Municipal Case Resolution System.  
 
To dispute a case, new users will be required to create a User ID and password in order to register and log into the Online Municipal Case Resolution system.   
 
Court sessions are held 2nd and 4th Tuesday starting at 5:00 pm.
