Household Garbage
Garbage is picked up curbside every Tuesday and Friday for the entire Borough.
Bulk Trash
(“Household furnishings such as chairs, sofas, rugs and other misc. items”), trash is picked up curb side on alternate Mondays and Thursdays, bi-weekly.
Mixed Paper
(“Newspaper, cardboard, magazines”), are alternating Wednesdays. Brown bags are acceptable, No Plastic Bags.
Commingled Containers
(“Bottles, cans, plastic containers #s 1,2,4 & 5”), are alternating Wednesdays. Placed at curb in hard receptacles – No Plastic Bags
White Goods
(“Washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, air conditioners and misc. metal items”), the DPW will schedule a pick up of these items. Call 201-592-5790; leave your name, phone number, and address where the items are to be picked up.
Yard Waste
(“Branches, brush, clippings”), pick ups are on alternating Mondays unless there is a Holiday, refer to the pick-up schedule in the Community Calendar or on the Web-site. This service is available March through November of the calendar year. No Plastic Bags
Loose Leaves - October - December
Leaves can be raked into piles in the curbline no closer than 10' to the stormwater inlets. Residents on Grand Ave., Fort Lee Road, and Hofley's Lane must place the leaves in rigid containers 32 gallons or less or brown biodegradable lawn bags for collections on Mondays due to heavy traffic or narrow roadways. No plastic bags.
Electronics
Televisions, computers, radios, etc., are to be dropped off at the container located at the DPW
